Early Z4 shifter is what you want. It will take a bit of getting used to but it has almost no movement and goes great with the $2 clutch stop. Search for my old threads and you'll see where I did both.

Hey Guys, I'm a newbie here and need your advise... Please help
I have 318ic 1994 has 95K miles, it is automatic transmission, problem I am having is that when i put the grear in (D) drive it has a lot of play (doesn't sit right) and the car doen't shif gears properly. However, if I put it in (3) it shifts like a new car.
Any suggestions? I have been reading and searching for answer but invain.

Bottom Line got the budget SSK from understeer.. switched it out in 15 minutes. No more play in teh shifter from side to side and it shifts like a champ.. needs bent a little but I'll wait a minute to take care of that.. All in all very happy with the investment.. thanks
