I am a Newbie to BMW forms, but was wondering if anyone has expeirience using SMG for track / de events. considering SMG or 6 speed 2003 M3.. any thoughts??

smg is great. they've been having some programming issues. But it's great for racing.

Yea, there was a SMG m3 at a Porsche meet I was at and it was amazing. The guy did soo well, it is really nice to be able to downshift and upshift soo fast, especially with the paddle shifters...Dont forget SMG does have launch mode (drops the clutch) and burn out mode (for more fun so you wont loose off the line to a standard manual

My Dad's has had a minor issue but none too serious, haven't heard about too many bad things in the SMG's
