Congrats, just work hard. I'm getting an E39 I just can't decide between the 540 and the M5, actually that's an easy decision, I just want to make sure I can afford the M5 before I do something stupid.
i dont want to discourage you but.. price/performance/longevity of the e36 m3 right now cant be beat. theres really no other car that can perform like the e36 m3 for its price - 9-15 grand.

Anways cam:
get the M man... i know its REALLY expensive... but i think its worth it... but if you can't afford it that will suck...
e30 M3.....you get classic bling value and wicked good performace...i have found the Newer M3's (E36, E46) have worse lower speed cornering abilities...they are only better on 80mph or faster turns which are the kind people die in...im too in love with hairpin cornerin in an E30 M3 for the money...even thought a mint e30 M3 is the same price as an average E36 i would still get the E30...thats just my $0.02 though...
