In a recent article the 645Ci lost to the CLK 55 AMG by a point though -- the reviewers were just too wowed by the AMG's power. It beat the CLK 500 easily though. The CLK is more a 3-series competitor if you ask me.

aHahahahah thats hilarious. M3 takes the cake due to a 30 grand price difference and a 6 speed manual
as i have said before in that mustang vs 328 thing.. i dont really think these are comparable, i think we should compare the cl 55 amg to the m5.. the cl55 has a v8 right?
Originally posted by captainhags@Oct 31 2004, 03:02 AM Yup, supercharged V-8 these days, 493 hp and a metric sh*tload of torque. The Cl will stun an M5 to 60 everytime, they're realllll fast.

You think the CL55 AMG will take out an M5 in 0-60? I don't think so. The M5 (new one) does 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and the CL55 AMG does it in I think 4.6 seconds.
Actually the CL65 has a twin-turbo V12, not supercharged. And BTW, M BMW, I wouldn't go by the published numbers, I have personally run an SL55 to 60 in 4.2 seconds and I don't imagine the CL is much slower than that. Running with a new M5 it would be close, I was talking about a previous generation with the V8.
