Now I know i posted a similar question on the 3 series forum, but i think you crazy M guys could help me more. I am wondering if I can shoehorn an M5 engine into the M3 chassis? Much like the hartge coupe.
I am about two weeks from shoe horning a '98 7 series 4.4 liter V8 in my 635. Not cheap! But things like this never are! If you decide to do it GOOD LUCK!

Sounds a lil like dealership pricing..... though i wouldnt be too surprized if it was somewhere around that price. i do know a good 318-m3 e36 swap is about 3K. Though the engine pricing is much different, and i do know there are more computers in the e46 M3.
