M3 (E36) Convertible Rear Seat Removal - BMW Forum

Hi all,

We have a '99 M3 convertible (E36) and want to run a cable from the CD changer in the trunk to the front seat for our iPod. Problem, we can't seem to get the rear seat back out (we've gotten the bottom out, but that doesn't help). Anyone done this? Any advice? Thanks much!!

I wish I knew how convertibles work. I assume it's very different from the coupe, but let me explain how to remove the seat from the coupe. You pull out the side bolsters. Then use a ratchet adn undo the seat belt from the body. Then pull hard. The underside of this top part should sit inside a clip. Have you tried that?
