Last night my friend purchased a 2005 v6 mustang....HAHHA
Im glad he got a car...cuz thats awsome...but I went up to him sarcastically as a whole bunch of people cirlce his car while he reved and i jumped infront of his window with 2 thumbs up and a big grin saying " Congrats! another v6 on the road"
at first he didnt have an answer but then he shot back witha ..."ya the only v6 that will kill an m3" (he means e36)....so i laughed because i was in the middle of buying my dreamy e36 m3 last week but i came to notice it had sap all over it...SHIT.
Anyways he went on to say that after hes done with it....lol, it will be faster than the e36 m3...ok not only does the make me laugh its pretty rediculous that these mustang drivers are trying to put them selfs in the same catagory as a german car. I dont mean to be a cocky prick that thinks m3's are the best cars ever...but its strictly bull shit. Mustang drivers strut there stuff 24/7 where as m3's dont waste there time with pussy gt stangs and little rice rockets. excluding rx7's (3rd gens) supras , sti's. The works you know?
ok so this is where the specs fall into play...
the e36 has 240hp with 235 lb torgue ....0-60 5.6/ 5.7 with a 1/4 in somthing like 14.67
the v6 mustang has 210 hp with 240lb torque with a 1/4 that i dont know and a 0-60 of somthing like 6.7 with a stick.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Just that right there is the funniest thing ive ever seen.
Even if he were to put chip on there with say cold air and exhuast.. hes got like 225 hp...
now if i were to say...put cold air, exhuast , chip id be somthing like 255 to 260 hp...
Qustion is why do mustang drivers in general try to compare there oversized peices of shit to our obviously superior machines?

They say history repeats itself. Enzo Ferrari told Duece that his products wern't worth a $%^&. That was in 1964 when Ford was negotiating buying Ferrari for 18 million. In 65 a car named the AC Cobra dominated the road courses in SCCA which Carrol Shelby designed. The AC's ruled for many years after their conception. Also in 65 another car called the GT was introduced for the 24 hour of le Man failed but in 66,67,68,69 won overall at le Mans. When Carol Shelby was brought on the GT team the car's name became the GT 40. Duece is better known as Henry Ford II. Those were pushrod engines that could be bought at Ford and tweaked to beat the best dual overhead cam engines Ferrari had to offer.
The GT40's were running less than 3 liter v8 putting out close to 400 HP and thumping Ferrari's. Later the GT40's put 427 CI/7 liter v8's that beat the Ferrari's by 9 laps and went over 3000 miles in 24 hours.
History lesson-a name doesn't make the car. Our M3's are fantastic cars but that glass tower is very fragile.
the new stangs look great but can't compete with a current and most old m cars on a track. I wouldn't mind having a stang at all but only to drive, not race. even the new v8 stang will get spanked by a newer m3 in a track race.
now if we move back in time, those gt stangs from shelby are incredible cars. even the suspension on those were light years ahead at their time. my friends dad has a gt500 that has 3400 miles on it. he bought it new and rarely drives it. I was fortunate enough to go for a ride in it one time and that car is incredible.
so don't classify all stangs in the "shit car" category, because you gotta remember, they are american built :P it's not the cars fault
ha ha ha, this all makes me laugh :P . Aeolus, you know your history, but that's exactly what it is. Hopefull it will repeat itself, Ford is always getting better and that's fine by me. I wanna like an American company, I just don't because they suck. Not as bad as they did ten years ago, but they still do.
Enjoy each for what they are. Keep in mind an 05 ///M3 cab would run twice that of a new stang. There both good for what they are.
As a v6 mustang owner i wont pretend my car is something its not. Its a cheerleader mobile with a Minivan engine (3.8L overhead Valve V6 from windstar). Stock they are nothing. The suspension is sludge, and power is iffy, but when it comes to modding, they can't be trash talked. My $5000 car with $12,000 worth of mods (putting it aobut equal to an e36 as far as price) You can have a turbo 450-500 rwhp car with an M3 level suspension. And when it comes to picking up 16 year old girls, the mustang cant be beat.

bottom line it's still an american made car. I'm sorry american cars are NOT what they used to be in the 60s/70s. now they have workers there who don't give a rats ass about the car. and what in turns happens? you get pos cars
interesting, i personally think that mustangs are amazing power for the price. they arent much to look at and the interior is something to be worked on, but the performance is great for the money.
how much is a v6 mustang in comarion with and equally equiped bmw say the 330i both being 6cyl 2 doors
PS im from australia so i wouldnt have a clue the car prices in usa seem alot cheaper we get the euro spec m3 here but they cost $146k CSL $210k 1 aussie dollar= 78 US cents
