how can i tell a m3 motor from a stock one ??? help about to trade

i can pickup a 325 with a m3 motor in it , how can i tell if its a real m3 motor ?? besides the fact it should have much more power and a valve cover that says mpower on it , i would think a m power valve cover would go on to a 6cyl motor ???? the says he got a m3 motor out of a recked m3 , but i dont know if this 100 % truth . looking at it this weekend . HELP !!!

You are correct that the plastic valve cover piece cna be swapped onto essentially any of the 6 cylinder motors.

Your easiest way of check is by looking for the VIN located on the drivers side of the block. The VIN should start of as WSB, nto WSA like the regular 3 series.
