I have a choice, between 2 BMWs, but I have to act FAST.
Anybody care to give me input on their preference?
Carbon Black with grey insides, 18" rims, near perfect car except for 1 scrape on a wheel edge. This car has 10K miles on it, vs 2K miles for the imola red. It is 750.0 less money and local to me, vs 2 hours away as the red one is.
As you can see, the car can look quite different at times.
The alternative is an Imola red. The car pictured is a new 04, but the car I'd be getting is an 03 with 2000 miles. black inside. Again, I think it has 18" rims, not the 19"s pictured here.
HELP, DECISION TIME!!! Oh, and am I freekin nuts giving up my 330ci sports with the best looking interior in it in the world in a 3 series? Hmmm...But it's an M, right? That's what we say.
Go for the red... $750 is not that expensive for the mileage diff and also 2 hours away?? I would get the one farthest away just so I could drive it longer on the way back. I would also take all of the back winding roads I could in between even if it made the trip 5 hours. YOU WOULDN"T NOTICE IT!!!!! GO FOR THE RED... at least that is my opinion. I wish I could have to make a decision like that some time... for you! GO RED GO!!!
thanks for the input "Kid". I'm going to take it from your monikor that you are a pretty young guy, right?
I'm a 40 something guy. So, please state your age range with your opinion, as it is important to know how people similar to myself in age think. but I don't have to long here, I need to make a decision on this.
The other consideration of importance is the black interior in Tennessee, where the summer warm weather runs for 8 months out of the year really. A point in favor of the light grey interior.
I'm 29 and just purchased an Alpine White 04 M3 w/ grey interior. My first choice was Carbon Black w/ Grey Interior, which makes me envious of your choices!
Personally, I think the grey interior looks nicer than the black on the M3. My previous car was black on black, and I hated it in the summers (I'm in California). The only drawback w/ the CB is that it's a dark color and will tend to look dirtier quicker. In that respect, I'm stoked about my white car right now. On the otherhand, the metallic nature of the CB will "cover" a lot of the pollen and dust.
To me, given the price diff., color, and location, the CB is my obvious choice. ;-)
10k miles doesnt really matter. when compared to 2k miles. sure you are getting a deal with the Red but the black interior is not what you want obviously.

Hey guys, thanks for the input. Black interior did concern me from a heat perspective given the long summer weather here, and my dislike for heat with our humidity. Sometimes, you just have to talk about it to realize what you should do. As much as I'd liked to have had the 2000 mile car, having 2 red cars in my garage may have been a little to much red. My Mustang Mach I is red as well and my old truck is maroon. So, now, I have a black/blue, red, maroon, and green. Nice assortment, lol.
I started to just get this and say to hell with the M. But about 50 extra grand stood in my way, lol. Just 102,000. Not bad really for a Ferrari Spider.
But I got the Carbon Black with grey, the grey is already growing on me really, and the M is sweet to drive!!!
Thanks for the smart advice guys. Makes a lot of sense to me, and now I feel like I was thinking right getting carbon black/grey.
Another consideration is the law. The red gets their attention a lot faster. Example, I passed a county yesterday doing 65 in a 50. He kept right on going, didn't turn around to get me. I know, it's just 15, but here, that will get you cited. :nana to them.
I want to wash and wax it now. But it's just to hot here. Maybe this afternoon later I can get started on that. Maybe I should just drive it with a little dust.
FYI, I got me one of those California dusters to keep it clean between washes, just to wipe the garage dust off.
