97 engine drop

So my friend has had his 97 ///m3 for awhile and hes been looking around for some time now. and has been wanting to drop a newer m engine in it like an 05 or 06. and he was wondering if he could drop it in with out too much problem.

Well.. he'd have to do a good amount of harness work.. electrical.. tranny... and drive shaft swap.

he doesnt wanna f/i h wants to keep it N/A.
i've tried for about a month to change his mind but hes set on doing this now.
