I had a E36 318iS for 2 years and never even thought about it! I always thought it was roof mounted, but now, thinking about it, I never had one!
How f'd up is that?

My M has it right in front of the rear view mirror... check there.. I'm not sure if they change them from year to year or not.. but thats where mine is...
