Has BMW lost its sport sedan lead with the latest M5? It isn't the fastest car in its class, the E63 AMG is quicker, and even a 2004 GTO can match it with an LS1 5.7. Maybe they should have bypassed the V10 and gone straight to using the 7 series V12?
I don't believe the released an "M" until the e28. I'm not too worried, MB is horrifically overpriced and they don't have half the technology.

The Mercedes isn't a threat at all. It's like the Lexus IS-F is going to be, just a luxury car with a big engine. People who are in the market for a car like the M5 want something they can actually drive, not just mash the pedal.
