Turbo'd M3

Hey guys,

First off I'd like to introduce myself (I might know some of you from ferrarichat.com also). I currently drive a lexus sc430 and am taking delievery of a ferrari 360 modena before this weekend. Thats my car background .

Anyhow, I was toying around with the idea of modding an 96-99 E36 M3 and i had my son come up with this list of mods....i would like to hear your guys opinions about this stuff. Thanks!

thats awesome, but if u gunna spend all that money, just buy an m5

Well,
1. its not really necessary for all that stuff, thats just an optimum setup
2. I want a light track car, not some 4000 lb m5... I also dont want my son to plop down all that money right away, with an m3 he can build the car up in steps
3. tell me what kind of stresses would this setup put on the engine? What kind of boost would i be able to run and what would be my aproximate hp and torque (crank and wheels)

why are you buying a cai with a turbo?

K It looks good but if your going to be throwing all that money into a E36 Id suggest putting in a more powerfult turbo, take a look at

That turbo is a ICS they are still constructign it but when it comes out it will destroy.
Or another alternative jsut get a E46 M3 GTR!

But Since you have mainly all AA Mods on there Id Use a AA exhaust and find a local AA Shop to Tune your software chip it runs about 200$. You can call them for more details

Why not just import a M3 CSL from europe. it would most likely beat the E36 turbo you're planning to built on a track.

One more thing did you consider the porsche 996 TT, before buying the modena. If you did, what made you pick the ferrari over the porsche.

Cause it costs 10,000+ dolloars to import not counting shpping costs or registration. Plus US dollars are crap over there.

you dont need a CAI. Also i would get a AA exahust that www.m3motorwerks.com sells. its straight pipes for the AA turbo

First off, I live in SoCal..Is it legal to turbo a car in socal? (because I know that straight pipes are illegal)

Secondly, my son will be 17

Third, I chose the 360 Modena becasue of it its grace, its speed, and its handeling. I didnt really consider any other cars except the Gallardo and 355, but after test driving them, I realized that the ferrari was the car for me. The feeling of driving it was incredible! Ill try and get pictures on here as soon as it arrives.


Now, lets say i dont want to do all this stuff to the car but i want to just buy a fast car thats stock. What are my option for a $20-45 thousand price range?

Im talking about cars like the Lotus Elise, Evo, STi, E46 M3, etc etc. Obviously these cars arent new but thats not an issue. My question is what sport cars/fast cars do you guys recommend in the stated price range?

a honda civic with a body kit will own all of those cars...

Get a used e36 m3 for around 30gs-35 in some place and then put a supercharger on it and call it good

It is legal to have a turbo on your car in SoCal, where abouts from socal Id like to see your Modena when you get it, ill unleash my M3 on the modena . If your considering another fast stock car go with the STi its sic.
