Transplant An S54 Into An E30??? Is It Possible??

my boss has an old e30 that he's looking to get rid of. i've been looking to start a project car. so if i picked up his e30, i was wondering if i could find a s52 with tranny or a s54 with tranny and put it in... is this a crazy idea??? i think it would be pretty nutz, but awesome... is it possible to do the swap in the first place??? can you help me out???

it was either this or a 240... help me out...

anything is possible, but with cost consideration in effect I wouldnt even attempt it..

Hey i have some answers for you. I have friends (2) who have currently put S52 engines in E30's. Like all engine swap's it takes time and money but can be done perfectly if you know the right people to set it up (BMW specialists). Once the engine is in the car FLY'S. That's just with the S52. With an S54 you would need craazzy amounts of computer upgrades etc and not to mention suspension tires and rims to handel all 333 hp. That 325 weighs nothing and with an S54, if you devoted months of time, would be an amazing accomplishment but with even better pay off's ( Low 12 second quarters stock).

ya ive seen some e30's done like that, hear its not to hard. and if you mean 240 do u mean datsun or 240sx. i have the sx with an rb25det and that was a complicated swap like no other. stick with the bmw no turbos to play with and n/a engines are fun around corners
