timing

Hello there, I have a rattle coming from the front timing cover. The noise starts around 1200 rpm- 1900 rpm, I am thinking it is one or both of the chains. Please let me know if anyone has any experience doing these and also if you have any diagram on how to set the timing marks.

yes I had the same rattle so take the car into bmw and have it looked at if you don't and it timing go's your motor will be f**ked

What do you have ?? M3 E36, M3 E46 or M5 E39 ?

hey there,, my car is a 1995 M3 E36 and it has 76000 miles, i have had regular maintenance and runs great, except for the cliking noise.

you probably just need the hydraulic chain tensioner replaced.
