Temperature controls making noises....

I have a 1997 M3 with the digital air conditioner (the one with the buttons not the knobs)

I just installed a new radio above it and now suddenly I'm hearing it make noises. (The AC control, not the radio) It's some kind of a vibration. It may have been there all along just without me noticing. But when I was screwing with the radio I started hearing it. Does hat little computer have a little cooling fan of it's own?

Has anyone ever heard this noise?

Does anyone have any idea what the hell I'm takling about? (I'm not entirely sure I do)

Does this noise indicate a problem? Will it drain my battery? It still makes noise with the car completely off. Key out of the ignition and everything.

Well I left the car and came back 30 minutes later and it had stopped. When I turned the ignition on the noise came back.

So for tonight I'm just going to assume it's a cooling fan or some other noisy thing that's SUPPOSED to be there that's set to stay on for a few minutes after the car shuts off.

Please let me know if I'm wrong.

Does it kinda sound like bubbling water? or an air leak? i got that too... im not sure what it is... Most likely the ac

No not the bubbling sound. I know that noise. That is the AC. That's also normal.

This isn't comming from the air handling system, it's comming directly from the computer control panel below the radio. My thought, and my hope, is that that thing produces heat because it's a mini computer and it's got it's own little cooling fan to cool it off.

Does anyone know how to remove that unit so I can check to make sure eveything is in order and there are no loose parts?
