i have a 03 m3 and would like to replace the factory radio with an after market one. is there any special kits i need to do so. probally gonna upgrade sound system w/box and amp shortly after. i have the harmon kardon system minus the nav and am looking for something better. any ideas?

Your best bet, would be to get it from Crutchfield........they have everything you need to do this with ease.....they will have the installation kit & a installation guide free, plus with free shipping.....here is just an example:
