Problem in dickdown with M3 SMG

Hi everybody!
I hv a 98 model M3 with SMG! The problem is that in the Automatic Mode "E" the dickdown doesnt work in the 2nd gear! ghead
how low the speed might be it doesnt shift to the 1st gear, untill u come to a stop!!! ghead
Does anybody has any idea what this might be?

Is this something new?
or did it just start happening?

If it's not new then it prolly is a safety thing.
If it is new, call the dealer and get an estimate to repair it. They can tell you what needs to be repaired.

well does it shift up when you get to high in 1st gear? Because if not then its definitly messed up. But if it does then maybe a safty issue. Either way call your dealer. Also check out the manuel it might have something about automatic shifting.

CiscoKid, the dealer has checked the kickdown, it was 95% they made it a full 100%.

Silver4evr, Yes, its something new! It all strarted when the car was not in use for about a week or so, and when started, the gear stict was moving but not shifting the gears, some sound coming seems from the gear box as if it can not shift the gear in the proper shaft or what ever there is! So car was taken to the dealer. The dealer did something to fix this thing out but after that this problem has started.
