Power Steering pump repair - BMW Forum

Sup all, I'm a newbie to the forums but have a little know how with bimmers. Question at hand, is it hard to rebuild a power steering pump and is it feasible? Most prices I've seen are north of $300 for the pump vs. the rebuild kit around $30 to $50. The car is a 95 m3. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I'm just trying to save a little here....Les, if you're out there help me out Bro.

Hey dude... Just got back to NC yesterday....

Hmm... I'd say buy the pump... easier that way... not extremly hard to change out... as for a rebuild... that takes a little time... and it can be done... never done it myself... but I'm sure I could figure out how...

This is all depending upon you'r pump can be rebuilt in the condition it is in...

I didn't found any DIY, and I have many favorite sites about it on my computer. Anyhow, it seems like not a tough job to me. Maybe you can make a DIY with some pics and post it up here??! We will e-assist you

Yea... sounds good... we'll have to take some pictures... kinda rare to have two Imola Red 95Ms around at the same time...
