My front bumper was scuffed pretty badly and I'm replacing it with a bumper with a lip. My old one didn't have one. Is the lip supposed to be painted? If so what color? Also where is the paint code on the E36?
Thanks,
Sean

The lip may or may not be painted, pretty much depending on your preference. And the paint code should be on your left strut tower, under the hood. For instance, my 318i is Schwartz II. Or is that Schwarz II...
Whatever...

Jester got everythign right, but my paint code is on my right strut tower. I own a e34.

Maybe we can help you decide whether to paint it or not. What color is your car?

You could probably leave it unpainted as black. It should produce a nice contrast.
