Hey I am getting an M3 and i have major plans to tune it, race it, autocross it etc. Which M3 should i buy an OBD 1 (1995) or an OBD 2 (1996-1999) in your opinion.
Most people what the OBD 2 , but here is my side of it.
OBD 1 :
Lighter ( I want lightest version as possible )
Easier to tweek
I would get a white one with dove interior and clone it on the 1995 M3 LTW (paint job and all)
3.0 liter 240 hp
It would have less miles
It would Cost less
Has much less electical stuff
Easy to convert to 3.2 liters
I want the most race ready, badass, lightest version and the most easy to mod M3. What is your opinion on the OBD1 vs the OBD2.

do you really need to ask this question , looks like you already have your mind made up, and if you want the most badass racer 95 would definetely be the way to go

yes they do have more torque, i love my m52 very torquey at lower rpms, but then power dies off in higher rpms, i need an m50 intake manifold, anyone care to donate
Well like others said looks like you have your mind made up.
My view is OBD1 Cars usually have higher miles, which means more things need to be replaced and end up costing some money. If you get OBD11 You still see good gains lil more pricey and switch to the m50 Manifold and theres your power gains OBD1 wise. Thats why I chose to go with OBD11. I track my car 2-3 times a month and do tons of local Auto-x. You can e-mail me if you have questions.
