My ABS and ASC lights just turned on...

I just hopped in my car...and the yellow ABS light aswell as the ASC light are on.

It wasn't like this when I left it last time...and it didn't move out of my garage since or has been driven hard in the recent past.

I have no idea what the problem is...I took it for a spin and it still breaks fine...even if I press the ASC button the light won't turn off.

Any ideas on what it could be?

it's a 1998 m3 with 52 000 kms on it.

Update on the situation...

My mom took the car to fuel up.

When she restarted the car the ABS and ASC lights didn`t turn on...

So I ask again...anything I should check for???

Last update before bed..

The lights apparently came back on....

I dunno...could it be some kind of sensor dying out?

Its one of your brake sensors...just had mine done

Yeah that's what I though...some sensor going crazy.

The light hasn't reappeared since. Though I do believe it'll come back up again.

So does every wheel have 1 sensor? Is there a way to pick out the bad one?

How much should it cost about?

Maybe do an engine check, it can say something about your problem. I also go for a bad brake sensor, it's the most common problem from the ABS system. Otherwise I have no idea what it is. Let it check by the BMW dealer, safety first!

Finally after driving around with these annoying lights on...we got the problem fixed.

We had to take it to the stealer cuz our indy mecanic couldn't draw the fault codes with his machine...BMWs are special after all...

It was infact a bad ABS sensor. Thing costs like 190$ Can.

The stealer even washed the car after....even though they never asked us...

It looks ok...but they basically just washed the paint...didn't really scrub my wheels!!

Though one thing I noticed...it's like if they didn't jack the car up right or something...on both side skirts near the front tire somewhat below the rear view mirrors the side skirt had "popped out" I just went out to dry the door sills and noticed it...just pushed em back in and they snapped right in place...but I find it weird that it did that.

Is it really because they might of jacked it badly? I don't know.
