Well folks, with the premature deaths of my two beloved supercharged 'verts thanks to Superstorm Sandy - a NEW CHAPTER and a new thread are here. By happy coincidence, the very same friend who created most of my M3 DINAN S3-R was reluctantly selling his loaded M5 as he was moving into the City. I was actually talking to him about the best way to find her a good home, fair price etc when he put her on the market. I've driven the car and knew it was his pride and joy. When the unimaginable happened and both my verts were destroyed, Athena was waiting. So, without further delay, allow me to introduce her to you all...
2008 ///M5 Alpine White/full black leather interior with brushed aluminum trim. 6 speed manual transmission. 48,000 miles with extended dealer fully warranty for another year or 100K miles. ALL FACTORY OPTIONS - heated sport seats, front and back, power rear sunshade, premium sound to Logic 7 with multiple subs and EQ, Navigation and traffic, satellite BMW Assist, on and on. Angel Eyes updated to 2013 specs, smoked tails, full heavy tints all around, hard wired Escort radar/laser detector and jammer with remotes, comfort access (key in pocket) etc etc. best of all is "///M Dynamic Mode". Press of a button and car goes from a powerful 400 horse sedan to a 525 V-10 supercar! I also love the active sport seats that anticipate turns and actually MOVE to better support driver and passenger. Freakin Awesome!!!

Looks like I'm blasting the wheels down to the metal and powder coating then black. Then I paint the brake calipers white and perhaps Interlagos Blue ///M emblem on calipers...thoughts of small black lip and small black rear spoiler too.
And I forgot to mention - the Heads Up display??! Like Iron Man my friends! Get the tach, speed and even the Nav floating in front of you in color! So cool! Very psyched about all this...

The bottom shot is NOT THE WHEELS I will put on, just an example of the calipers painted and with the decal - this one in Interlagos Blue, the other option is white with the ///M logo. What do you folks prefer???

One more question - does everyone like the rear M badge changed to black, gray and white or would you prefer a traditional ///M badge color scheme?? My inclination is to not mess wih the sacred M logo and change the trunk lid one back to normal and have normal colored badges on the new colored (or white) brake calipers. There are already normal colored ///M badges on the side vents. Thoughts on colors?

Car is at star detailer for powder coating wheels gloss black...and painting the brake calipers....WHITE with the ///M logo to match the car and stand out best (sorry Interlagos blue was close...can always pretty easily change it down the line...). Should have her back this week and then....PICS!!!!
PS - whispers of a thin white stripe around the outer edge as an accent - not yet, but maybe...looks pretty amazing when done right with vinyl...hmmm
Tires for rear soon too...more Nittos? Michelin Super sports?? Vreds? HMMM....

OK - wheels stripped and powder coated gloss black to match vents. Brake calipers stripped and painted white with ///M logos. First primitive pictures as only had the phone but a TASTE...
