M3 vs. SL500

As most of you know, I am scheduled to order my car (M3!!!) in a few weeks, however my cousin who is a Benz lover, has suggested to me to get an SL500. This is the same cousin that found the deal on the 2001 CL500 for me. I would without a doubt take up his offer on the SL, but only if he can find the deal. He says its possible to get a 2003 SL500 with options and around 12k miles for 850 a month lease. Do you think it's possible, cause if it is, a hardtop convertible sounds realllllllllll nice

They don't compare with an M3 performance wise - unless your'e talking about an AMG SL500.

Even with a great deal (unless its a steal) the Benz should still be more then the M3.... I could be wrong though.

No your definatly right that the Benz is more, its just the matter of actually pulling off that type of price. The SL500 is perfect, 302 HP and a Hardtop Convertible. Now if it only had a manual tranny

yes, I think that the price is deffinately doable. Wish I had 850 a month extra to have one myself.

The M3 is the faster one. Run 0-100 km/h (M3/M3CSL/SL500): 5.2/4.9/6.3 seconds. The mileage of the BMWs are better (M3/M3CSL/SL500): 11.9/11.9/12.7 per 100km and the weight is(M3/M3CSL/SL500): 1470/1285/1745 kilograms.
Last but not least: The SL500 is the most expensive

It's just my opinion, but I don't like the looks of the Benz nearly as much as the M3. You could say the Benz is a more "modern" look, and you's be right, but the M is just flat out a better looking car. In my opinion, of course
