Has anyone w/ a M3 raced a Cobra? What was the outcome? My friend and I had a debate...he was convinced that the cobra would win, but I think otherwise...

Please note that these #'s show stock vs stock. The mustang is VERY easy to hop-up because of the s/c. The 1/4 mile time really shows how much faster the cobra is. Having said that, I hate the cobra and wouldn't trade my E46 M for it.
Hmmm this is a good question. American Muscle Vs. German Power.
Yeah I think it should be a good one....the Cobra is fast no doubt...but the M3 will keep up but probably doesn't have enough to pull out the win...I estimate that it won't lose by much.
04 SVT Cobra has got 390 horses...vs the M3s 333hp.....I don't think it has what it takes to beat the Cobra.

ford is doing some good things with their new cars. i like the cobra engines and the style of the new mustangs (flame all you want its my opinion) but the M is a more classy car. for brute power i would go for the cobra but class/style i would pic the M. and this is coming from a muscle car owner.
yeah but in all fairness you have to give the bimmer wayyyyy more credit. it has way more comfort, safety, options, and engineering. the cobra engine is a supercharged v8, the m3 is a inline 6, just the fact that they re comparable is amazing. Just imaging how bad the mustang would get spanked if bmw put a supercharged v8 in the m3.....mustang wouldn't have SHIT on that and thats the truth. they are not in the same class. You would have to compare a 6cyl mustang to an m3 if you compared 6cy for 6cy and that would be a total laugh. I would imaging a v8 supercharged m3 would produce around 600-700 hp if they made one with the displacement amount of the mustang cobra. bimmer is better

AMG can't build an NA engine that can compete with M engines, so they stick in a supercharger and say their cars are faster. BMW could simply do the same, but they don't out of principle.</span>
