had this same question asked to me, i belive the sti will win but really who would put one of those on the streets they are the ugliest things in the world, u have to add the pimp factor in to the equation and that with speed the M3 takes the house

the STi will most likely take the M3 up to 40 then the race will get a lot closer then the m3 will inch at 70-80 then at around 90 the M3 will take off...

I have E46 M3 - From 80mph I began to walk away @ 100 mph

But remember, the boost on the sti can be increased and results may vary.

Are you sure about that? It's a driver's race but #'s wise the M has it beat. Are we assuming stock for stock or are you saying the STi has bumped up boost? used

Have autocrossed/raced both and the Sti understeers like no other but runs great numbers. The E36 is so well balanced, that its a hard car to beat.

From 30 on, my 1988 m5 stays with it (go check the numbers if you don't believe) and I raced an e46 m3 from 20, he beat me bad.

2005 sti 30-100 mph 11.6 seconds

e46 m3 30-100 mph 9.9

I'm sorry, 1.7 seconds to me is a big difference, the sti would lose even more from there.

To tell you the truth.... I raced my buddy with his Sti 2004 stock... and I got rapped..... No spanked, but fcking rapped. So I don't even know how you can some of you come here and say that the M3 would win. The M3 is a beautifull chick magnet and booty call car, not a freaking Race car. In straight line, Top speed and lets not even go to the track....the STI will absolutely rappe us all, and I do mean rappe...... Please think twice before you mess with them....If you don't believe me go play around with SRT-4 and then you will understand....Just like I did.. I am very happy with my car. I get babes and couldn't care less if STI or anyother car pulls up.
