There are three M3's i found on autotrader.com that interest me. Which one should i buy. i plan to do some upgrades so the 95 is appealing but a 96 with less miles for basically same price. Ahh! help me decide.
Green 96' M# for 14k$
Red 95' M3 for 14K$
White 95' M3 for 13K$
they are all within driving distance for me but im not sure which to get

What's the mileage on the white one?

The green one says "extended warranty" available. How long, how much and by whom? What does it cover and where do you have to get the repairs done?

You really need to have each car inspected and get a report from/by a dealer/ind. BMW mechanic/AAA before you decide.

Also, are maint. records available? Have you done a carfax? How much tread is left on the tires? Any recent maint. done? By whom? When's the next maint due?
Find out if the car was maintained at a dealer. Call the dealer with the VIN and get a printout of the maint. done.

Check out edmunds.com or kbb.com for bluebook prices. Check this link for the TEN STEPS TO BUYING A USED CAR.

Also, you can always put an ad out for a "car wanted" and see what you get in your area.

Based on what's presented I prefer:
1) green
2) white
3) red (too much attention)

my 2c.

I have been looking for a M3 in my local area that I like and I would have to say that it comes down to engine records, then history on the car. THe color would be second.
Good luck!

hey thanks for all the input this is helpful and ill try to look into the info that Silver4evr was saying. I should be getting the insurance settlement money from my 325is that was just recently totalled and that is the final factor before i can buy one but so far the green one is promising and i definitly agree that red is too much attention. Thanks any any other insights would be great

well 16 is a good age. And if your parents or you can afford it more power to you. But rember insurance and gas will kill most people.

The green one looks to be a good buy but listen to what everyone is telling. Do some homework on the vehicle before you jump into it. CARFAX is definately a must since it is not certified. You want to make sure it doesn't have a salvaged title and never let the dealer know exactly how much you have to spend. If you are spending cash, always say you have roughly about $2000 less than what they are selling it for and you have to haggle and get a good price that you are comfortable. I have a problem with paying what the dealer tells me to pay. I have never paid that. You can use that extra money to buy your warranty. Car dealers always make a profit so don't let them tell you they are not making any money on the car. It is a complete lie. I believe after you check out the car and everything is ok, you should offer him about 10 - 11K and see what he says. If he says no, you walk away and keep looking.

That's my 2c from my experience in purchasing cars.
