Hey guys i know this guy who is selling a 97 M3 for a good price and it only has 78,000 miles on it. However, theres a catch, the 5th piston is miss firing.

So do you think its still worth getting and how much is it to fix the 5th piston?

Thanks,
-Eric-

Send a message via AIM to BMWL2
what is exactly wrong with the number 5 cylinder?

Find out what is causing the mis and then go from there could be a 5 dollar spark plug or could be a 3000 dollar rebuild.

the guy said it does nt have enough compression...and i think he said it needs to be rebuilt.....but he has another m3 engine i could use instead of rebuilding it.

So the 95 M3 hes selling has the bad engine and he has a 99 M3 engine that i could buy and he can also install it into the 95.

He also said he will change it to obd1.

What do you thinki should do? Go to a 3.2 engine swap or just rebuild the 95 engine?

well, if it were me, and only from my point of view, i would walk away, there is so many else out there to choose from, it would be ashame to buy a M3 and it be off the road more than on.

yeha i might jst do that but its such a good deal...for 9000 i could have a 95 m3 with a 3.2 liter engine in it with only 70,000 miles...
