Hi!! How are you? We all have seen the pictures of the new M5 and the new M3.
For the M5, they are going to have a 5.0L, V10, 507hp.
The M3, will have a V8, 400hp (that's the news).
My friend was telling me that giving the M3 will take away it's nimbleness because the V8 will increase the weight of the M3. He said they won'tbe able to balance it out since there would be too much weight in the front of the car.
Do you think BMW should offer two engine types. The I6 and the V8?

M3's are famous for there Hardcore I-6's but... with the CTS-V, C55, and S4 to compete with BMW might need to beef it up. I like M3's because of weight distribution and handeling so if they cant get the wait even then stick with a more updated I-6. Although a small block 3.some liter 8500 rpm lightweight V8 would be an amazing engine the BMW could pull off. 2 engines is a no not for an M
Hi!! How are you? I'm pretty sure BMW can pull it off. I just hope they don't compromise anything. I think BMW knows this and won't do it. They'll work pretty hard on it and reduce the weight by using more magnesium like in the new 3-series.
Oh and what car does BMW have that can be compared to one of the Porsches?
Like the Turbo 2 or the GT2. I read that an M6 will be coming out in 2006. It's going to use the same engine as the M5. So I would take it that it'll do 0-60mph fast than an M5, which is said to do it at around 4.4 seconds.
Which one would you guys get considering price was no obstacle?
Hi!! How are you? Guys, why doesn't BMW make something along the lines of the MERCEDES SLR-MCLAREN or something like the Ferrari's, Lamborghinis, and so on. You get the idea.
When someone asks me to come BMW with the SLR, I'm like, I got Ferrari for that baby. Compare it with Ferrari. Plus, Mercedes made the SLR with McLaren, right?
I like these car companies:
1. BMW.
2. FERRARI.
3. TOYOTA.
4. LEXUS (Toyota).
You guys think the M6 will easily defeat the CL65 AMG or the CL600/CL55 AMG?
I think it will be able to since even the M5 can beat the CL 600/CL55 AMG since the M5's 0-60mph is in 4.4 seconds and the 0-60mph figures of CL600/CL55 AMG are 4.6 seconds.
Just imagine if they manage to get 400 hp from a 6 cylinder in the new M3. It would be amazing. I think its possible with some crazy compression ratio, decreasing the stroke rate, increase the revs limit to 10,000 -11,000 rpm and probably add 100-200 more cc to the current engine.

Well they have the Z8 but its too damn expensive. People rather just buy a 996 tt with the same amount of money.
Hi!! How are you? They don't make the Z8's anymore though.
Oh, and do you think adding a V8 to the M3 will have a big effect on it's handling.
I mean if you keep the displacement small, like below or equal to 3.5L, that won't be a lot of weight, right?

Well, it has always been that the m3 is more of a drivers car, it will stay the same way. Don't worry, has m ever disappointed? Never.

Well, I say, look at the mclaren f1, that was bmw powered. I say, look at the fact that the new m5 for 90k will get near the speeds of the mclaren, not to mention what the m6 csl should do. Easily defeat the cl65, I'm not sure, but I have a feeling they will make sure it does. If it doesn't, again it will be more fun to drive with a high reving engine, and will feel better, as bmws have always felt better than m-b's. I also think the m5 has always been about once you get past 30 mph. From the original that had a relatively bad 0-60, but caught up and passed almost everything if you kept going. 0-60 is all about tires these days.
I've read that the new m5 keeps up with a gt3rs on the track, I say, nuff said.
