M3 engine needs rebuild

Hey, I'm currently very interested in a local yellow 1995 m3 for sale, its got a dinan supercharger, but the engine needs some major work.

The seller wants $8995 for it as is. I'm very tempted to talk to him and try to buy it at around 8k and then pay for a engine rebuild from a local shop.

Any of you guys know how much a full engine rebuild on a 1995 m3 would be, or of any good places to order a used imported m3 motor.

Currently i've been mainly in the honda/acura scene driving a supercharged integra gsr, but i want to get out of it and learn some stuff about bmw's since their way more luxury, and nicer cars.

Any thoughts, concerns, and price estimates for rebuilds/swaps and what is possible to do with this basically blown motor m3 would be great.
