This Day Has Finally Come!!!

Ladies, Gentlemen and Werkzians of all ages. My friends, as many of you know and as my never ending hints have suggested, a spectacular surprise has been a long time coming. I helped RM pick up the car--it is a gem.

It's so well-maintained that AFTER THE SALE, the seller cleaned the wheels of unnoticeable road grime AFTER we had driven it to RM's house.

I will try and do some video soon. But first things first, I need some nice top down pics!

Oh, and I forgot that it is, per the meticulous prior owner, she's putting out 473 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque. I had her at about 100-110 mph yesterday and was not slightly taxing 4th gear. I threw it into 5th and then 6th just to see and the RPM's were about 2K in 6th. Apparently the thing is built to go 150 mph and up (the seller took me and teh wife 150 mph - that's 3 adults and the hardtop on - without the slightest sweat breaking out). It seems I shall truly need to get to know the local tracks well... :rule I also plan on going over to the Dinan service center where everything has been done on this car and getting to know the manager, as he knows my car far better than he knows me at this point, but that may well be much more important - FTW!

One quick story. We were stuck in traffic on the highway yesterday when a stock blue E46 M3 pulls up next to us. I gave him the thumbs up and smiled. He then looked at me and started revving his engine, stock high pitched whine of the 6 screetching at me. I smiled and waved again. He then did it AGAIN. OK, so now I figured I'd been more than fair in front of his girlfriend and I showed him just how much Steve Dinan had improved the exhaust tone of an E46 M3 to the deep RAWR of a straight 8 with just a wee hint of a whistle at the end. That guy's face was PRICELESS - you could almost see his hair blowing in the exhaust fumes! :rofl2

Um, YAY!!!

Thanks. I went to high school in the Bronx. It has been a great year indeed. We are super excited about the car and the area! We got very lucky and got a terrific house that was totally redone by a contractor who owns tile and granite stores and planned to put his own family in the house (while he renovated his mansion) then sell it, but just wound up selling it. The place is so nice it is hard to believe we live there sometimes. As to the car, it is a dream come true for me and one I've been working on for a long time!

I am waiting for this never ending crappy weather to lift so I can get out to the beach and take some shots with the top down to post!

It is actually spelled "schiv" I believe but donlt quote me and God knows I'm not asking you about spelling ;) It means you leak - you can't hold your liquids... :p

Oh, and the drag another thread in here, yes, this car is properly wearing the ///M badge, thank you :rofl2

I'm DYING to take more pics (and for any excuse to drive the new M!). It's been raining everyday dammit! That and the never ending stream of contractors (we got new central AC today, and there's landscaping and spinklers and a patio in the werkz too - nuts). I am, as you of course know, totally over the moon about the new car! I'm like, ready to drive cross country in it! It was soo worth the wait!

And let me tell you (and I think I've said it before) those rims are INSANE in person! When I first saw the car live it was the first thing that struck me - I couldn't believe the difference as I stood there staring. The day I actually bought it and brought it home, Prof and I just stared at the wheels, dumbstruck, going over and looking at them close, stepping back, again and again. He pulled the 7 next to us on the ride back to my house to see them spinning with the Brembos underneath and said that was awesome too. It has really been a magic time for me. I intend to baby this one as much or more than teh Roadster. Thanks for the kind words man.

What about a lift for your live in mech;) you know Someone is gonna have to spend 24/7 on those babys:D

Hey it doesn't say "Turkey
///M car Fleet Commander" in the sig for nothing you know... :D

It's funny, since if we were actually serious, I have a great local mechanic 5 minutes from me who specializes in BMw's and needs help! That's the place where I took the pics of the mint condition green 2002 and the black E34 - both just purrfect! Other than the occasional urgent fluid top off, the S3R M3 will be Dinan service center serviced only I'd say (warranty still good for a bit too - FTW!). I do need qualified drivers to work out teh Roadster and give her the love she needs...sigh, why is it we have to workl all the time to support our car addictions?? Alpine I'll need the M3 hand-washed and clayed shortly too - she's soo low with the CF front lip she's never been in a regular car wash (and doesn't want to go either!).

Once the last of the home improvements are made (new central AC was yesterday, new furniture, patio, spinklers and sod next week) we will start having company as my place is made to entertain - Mini-Werkz meet at RM's FTW??! We can debate my American Muscle neigbor across the street who has about 14 cars (some really nice stuff, bt pu-lease don't start with us about taking corners... ;)

Hoping for a break in teh never ending rain this weekend so can take pics!

I think that is expanded to "great taste in beautiful things and people". It's a gift... ;)

#25 ·
That's what SHE said...um, less filling??? :shifty :rofl2

I'm so down I wanna better job that actually has to do with cars plus Steve would enjoy spending time with your S3 even though he is only being brought back to S1 specs or maybe bumped to S2:D

And i'd be so down to hand wash that baby with Q-tips!
