I'm 17 and am looking for a new car, for the past 2 months all I've been looking at is Audi S4's, BMW m3's, g35 coupes and subaru sti's...
At first I wanted an audi s4 (2000 - 2002) because of it's affordability, then I moved on to subaru sti's because they're even cheaper then the s4, faster, but worse handling and they look disgusting in a bad way (in my opinion). 2 days ago I went to my dads office building and there was a 1999 bmw m3 parked in the warehouse, it was slightly lowered, 19" rims, spoiler, new exhaust, and a small body kit that made it look beautiful. I'm going to ask my dads friend if he's selling this bmw or not, the reason I'd even bother asking is because he owns a 2004 jaguar that costed him a big load of money (atleast 60g), an audi a8 which costed him 71g, and a range rover that was about 70g (yep, he's damn rich. The best thing about this m3 is that it only has 35,000 miles, which is in the range I was looking for in the new car I'd want to buy. Now I'm just wondering how this 1999 bmw compares will all the new ones (2001-2005), how fast can it go 0 to 60, and 1/4 mile drag times... if anyone can help: thanks a lot in advance

The 1999 will not be as fast as the 2001-2004 M3, but a 1999 with that mileage on it will run you $25k and a 2001 or > willl cost you $35k on up. As for how fast it is, I believe that a 1999 will do 0-60 in 5.8 and 1/4 in 14 something but don't quote me. If you drive the car you will fall in love with it. I don't know how much money you have but the 1999 M3 with only 35K on it is worth a lot of money. Good luck I hope that you get it.

And since you didn't really elaborate on the type of e36 S52 m3... (Evo's are MUCH faster - -well, I don't have times, but they should be with the extra 100hp...)
1996 BMW M3 Automatic 6.7 15.3
1996 BMW M3 Luxury 6.6 14.9

Comparatively... the e46...

2001 BMW M3 Convertible (U.S.) 5.4 n/a
2002 BMW M3 4.7 13.4
Yeah maybe that helps. PS - the Audi is pretty, the Sti is overhyped, the M3 is beautiful, the e46 is beautiful-er, and an e36 m3 Evo is a wet dream.
