Sup guys. I have been a fan of BMW M3 since the beginning of my driving days. Now I can finally afford it. Here is what I ordered
- Alpine White
- Black Leather (wanted to go with Imola Red but I might get sick of it after few years)
- Xenon, Premium, Width-Adjustable 4 way lumbar support.
I got 51550 + tax .. about $2000 off MSRP.
Wait time is 8-10 weeks.
Here is my dilema.
There is a vehicle coming in with Premium, Xenon, 19inch, HK, and Parktronic.
MSRP on that is 55880. I can get $2000 off so 53880 + tax... roughly low 58k
Should I wait 10 weeks to get what i want?? I mean I want to have the car NOW or SOON.. but I wanted to get different rims.... but being stuck with the 19inch... i might just have to ride on it.... Kinda of waste i think.
Also, HK sound system isnt good for me. I heard it and I think it is POS. I plan to upgrade at least the components to A/D/S or MB Quarts or FOCAL speakers later.
Perhaps adding an amp and customized sub. Not plan to change the HU. I want the OEM look.
Having said that..... wait 10 weeks or just get the damn car soon and enjoy.... geez.. i cant wait...
Another problem is that dont BMW facotry go on a vacation in month of August?? That means my production will be delayed a WHOLE month!!! so my order will be delivered Nov/Dec... that is big NO NO NO....
People help me.. this is my dream car... So close to having one but so far away...
sounds like you already answered your question, wiat for what YOU want. tho id cop the 19s. good drivers dont need parking aids, and like you said you plan on going aftermarket on the wheels, so why pay extra for all that when you can wait on one built just the way you want. i love em 19 wheels tho.
i dont understand tho, which order would be caught up in the factory vacation?
if you car can and will get here in 8-10 weeks, i say wait.
dude, i feel for u, and would know Exactly how u would feel waiting for the damn thing! I ordered my 330Ci in May, and it aint comming in till October! thats a fuken 6 month wait, and i soo wish i just picked up a 330Ci from the showroom, rather than Individualize it and tailor it to my liking.
Because in the end, they both are the same cars, give u the same satisfaction. HOwever, having sed that, 2.5months seems like shit all to me, and wouldn't mind waiting that much. in the other hand waiting any longer, tears your balls apart.
I wouldn't worry about the shut down. I work in auto manufacturing and we shut down for 2 weeks too. This doesn't mean that we stop supplying cars at this time, there is a sufficient stock build before hand to meet demand so I doubt you will be affected.
Nice car, nice choice..... if you don't hold out and there is something about the other car you don't like, you'll kick yourself everytime you drive it.

<span style='color:gray'>"...and the home of the brave..... is bravey 130bhp from a 7 litre engine? 100bhp/litre or don't bother building it!"</span>
<span style='color:red'>"Aaahh the UK; where every road is jammed, under construction, poorly maintained and unfairly policed, at least we don't get over-taxed for it........ HA HA HA!"</span>
DUDE THANKS FOR NOT GETTING WHIE/RED CAUSE THATS WHAT I'M GETTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyways, congrats, I would stick with what you have, unless getting the other car is a hassle-free process and your willing to fork over a few extra $$$ B)

SOOO temping to call the dealer to tell them, "I WANT THE CAR COMING IN END OF JULY".
I need to really think about that extra $2000 is a lot of money. It is kind of hard when the car cost 55k... hard earned money.... but it's true... time=money.... i hate it.
Oh yeah i forgot... the car comes with aluminum trim also.
So all you guys said wait..... I guess it's not that bad eh? 8-10 weeks? I hope month of August does not delay the manufacturing process.... those darn Germans.. hahaha why take a break when Im ordering the car!!! I waited like 10 years to get this M3..... sigh... sigh
anyways I say get the car now. Mi friend ordered a Mini cooper S, and it took 3.5 months to get teh car, where bmw said it would only take 10 weeks also. I mean DAMN. He got it the day after school got out LOL! Anyways... get it now and enjoy the car.

I don't know if you're paying cash but $2k over 4 years is about $50 extra per month. I think I'd wait. But I would get the Silver Gray or Titanium Silver with the Red interior.
Well... just talked to my saleman.. He said order went through already. He will contact me back for production number. This is going to be painful 8-10 weeks. What to do.... Good news is that... I;ve only seen 5 M3s here in Buena Park, CA in the past 3 weeks.... weird.. i know more are out there...
How long does it take for the dealer to get the production number... days??? weeks??? My saleman is lazy... he doesnt inform me with things.. I always have to call several time before he answers my question... but Im just being nice to him since he's giving me 2 grand off... whatever.. as long as I get the car... I just want to yell at him sometimes.. but I gotta keep my cool....

why are you so impatient? chill out man. Most of us cannot afford a $55k car. An 8-10 week wait is nothing.
