I was sleepy at the gas station and didn't realize that I put too low an AKI rating in my car, but that was after I filled the tank....
IS this bad?
1998 e36m3 says a minimum of 91 AKI, I put in a full tank of 89 AKI.
I know that the knock sensors can compensate, but I can cause some sever engine damage if this AKI is too low.
Is this too low? Will I be okay? Should I and if so how would I drain the tank?
AHAHAHAHAH
I tell you what I would do, but I don't garuantee it's the right way:
Don't accelerate too fast, and drive your car easily. After 50 miles fill it up with the AKI 91 gas and drive easy for another 150 or 200 miles. After those miles fill it up again and drive it empty (now most of the fuel is 91 and I think you can accelerate just like everyone at this point).
*NOTE That's what I would do. Maybe it will hurt your engine!!!! I'm not responsible for that :P
Good luck!

I reccomend two bottles for a tank... It thins out more then you know. Plus one tank of 89 isn't going to hurt your engine, just dont make it a habbit. If this car is a previous owner car I'm sure they've done it more then once. Good luck with your venture though. And I'm in your area....Indiana border 30min from downtown haha

I've been there before... there's a girl there who took me out for drinks, and forced me to imbibe lots of vodka. Do you agree that Indiana is a suburb of Chicago?
Maybe we should find a meet or something. Nothing happens in the midwest here with bimmers. Too many rich people with too much money to spend and not enough balls to drive.

My part of Indiana is definitly a suburb. We have get to gethers all the time....but most vehicles are VW and Audi.....I'm the first of my group to venture into BMW, but we are somewhat biased to european cars no matter the make.....so I fit in nicely...and as for driving I drive hard and I'm never satisfied with power. I participate in SCCA events monthly. Anyway since I'm super off topic you can join us in our next GTG
