| I'm sure there have been many dicussions in the forun on this matter but I am new so here we go. Today while I was fueling my 2004 M3 at Marthon a guy came over and paid a compliment to my car. That was nice but he went on to say why are you running gas with ethanol in this car. My car has been running a little rough since it got cold here in Cincy "GO BENGALS" that is a scary thought but anyway. He knew what an M3 was so I knew he was a car guy at least to some extent. I understand octane ratings, fuel burn rates, and all that good stuff but never factored in the ethanol factor. Some people don't undestand that running a higher octane fuel in an engine not designed for it is not a good idea and why. I get that kind of stuff. I know their are a couple schools of thought on this matter. I can add a post at a later time if anyone is interested. In any case the light has not come on for me on this ethanol thing. So does anyone sware by no ethanol fuel, and if so why? I have not looked in the owners manual yet to see if BMW has a recomendation.
