I was with my father when we rear ended some body ghead , not a big deal, didn't even use insurance. We ran into a 528i (1998 just like mine) and there was little to no damage on her car but our car's front end was really bad for the size of accident (see pictures). We bought it in to a body shop yesterday and we were quote 900 and we decided to go for it obviously (we are unfortunately good customers at this body shop). As you can see in the picture the metal between the grills is bent, they claim they couldn't fix it and now need to: order a new hood, paint that hood, and the fenders so it matches. They quoted us 1400 for everthing now (including the hood). I couldn't find any prices on hoods for M3, does anyone know what they go for? He claims he is giving us a deal...

Poor m3

so sad!!!

Take it to another body shop. That hood is fixable. My dad is a mechanic, so I've seen a lot worse dents and dings fixed. It sounds like the body shop is trying to take you for a ride.

ya no reason for them to need a new hood unless there is damge underneath we cant see but even if they did 1400 seems alittle much for hood and paint. why do the fenders are they dinged up too?

Lightbulb

After looking around more, this body shop is actually giving us a deal but a few other places didn't recommend painting the fenders because that is original paint. But we went for the guys we always use and they are going to paint the fenders. I'm just going to have to trust it will look good. They did an awsome job matching paint on the other things we have had them do. Ill keep you guys updated!
