As shown by the pictures, the exterior driver's side door handle broke off. Most of the door handle related issues I've read from searches are malfunctioning handles, but I haven't come across drivers with issues related to detached handles.
This is probably a rare occurrence, but I was hoping someone could advise on what to do.
Can I simply purchase a new door handle and have it installed? Should I have an independent shop perform the work, or is it worth going to the dealership? Would a reputable body shop be a good route?
Also, any idea what this will cost? (handle, painting?, installation)
And suggestions or recommendations are appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.
