Get the vin number and either call (206-777-1476) or Email
along@lithia.com Alex Long at Seattle BMW and he will be able to tell you whether the car is in the recall group. I have an early 2002 M3 that has been recalled twice, once to replace the rod bearings and once to replace the rod bolts. I did not have any problems leading to the recall...just responded when notified. The recall extends the warranty on the engine to 100,000 miles. I love the way the car performs but was disappointed in the sound system (rear speaker rattle and inability to handle even a normal bass) and the pre-DVD based navigation system which is clunky and hard to use. Also had a short shifter installed as the stock shifter was too loose for my tastes.
