So i am starting to kick around variouse ideas for the M3 and i was wondering how difficult it would be to get a dual exhaust system set up? also any personal thoughts on it? this probably wont be done for a while since my first goal is a big fat turbo but i would like to start gathering info now. Thanks in advance to all info and opinions!

Well, there are companies that make exhausts for your car, which have the dual exhaust. The real difference is that the right-side exhaust tips are extended from the main muffler chamber through a long pipe rather than both tips coming out from the horizontally positioned muffler of the E46 M3. It is slightly less efficient (3-5hp), but all you need to do to is make a cut for the tips in your bumper. It would probably be impossible or take lots of customization to fit an E46 M3 muffler and definitely would not be worth it. Ironically, Dinan exhausts for the E46 M3 only come out through one side...the other tips are dummy tips, which is why they are painted as otherwise they would color differently.
Thanks for the great info BMT. if any one else has any thoughts or comments please fire away.

The only way I'd dare do that... is do it right... new rear bumper... with a good company... Borla... UUC... AA something of that sort.. you can get the pipes made your self if your willing.. and just get some good muffelers...
