Yes. That is indeed my goal. The $10k+ though... that... seems... a bit unlikely in the NEAR future.


EDIT: The link is for the e46 though... I'd, of course, be getting the e36 S3-M3. Not as much power, but... hell, I'd prefer that in this car. If I remember correctly, the e36 m3 has better slaloms and skidpad then the e46? Or maybe I just saw comparos under e36 favorable conditions.

Its probably better than the e46 non-M, but probably not the e46 M3. At least in stock form.

Actually, I was referring to the ///m.... although definitely the e46 m3 has a clear hp and torque advantage, the e46 is a bit heavier. Hmm. I'll go re-check the numbers. Maybe get some non-biased results.

Its about 200-300 lbs heavier (off the top of my head) but they also have what im sure is a sportier suspension with much larger rubber.

3400 pounds, I'm pretty sure.. which is alot for a two-door sports car

That's not heavy at all considering top speed capability. Weight burdens do not hurt track cars unless they provide an off balance CoG in the forward 1/8 or the aft 2/8 of the car. All about the 46er on this one. However flat out straight line racing you definetly wanna drop some lb's.

Balance of center of gravity? what?

Weight burdens everyones car, but this is not to say you shouldnt drop weight. Weight should be equally dropped equally through the car.

That, my friend, is one of the reasons why I'm not so sure about doing the CF hood and trunk - I need to make sure I don't mess up the balance...

I was also thinking about removing the spare, but that's a lot of weight in and of itself, and all in the trunk...
