other than looks, the Sedan is sportier because it has stiffer ride than the 2dr, also has 3 brace points rather then 2 in the coupe, also all Euro e36 touring cars are 4dr..... and IMO the 2dr and 4dr pretty much look the same.
i was left with the same thought about a month ago and i did get the sedan and let me tell u its a fun car to drive cuz i have the accords and jettas ext try to race me thinking its a 325i wtih m3 badges and end up wishing they didnt try lotts of fun i will post some picks
I like the look of coupes and dont have a need for 2 more doors therefore coupe was my choice, if you have kids or your always hauling people around get a 4 door they are both the same car.

Almost the same car but the 4dr is a sportier than the 2dr cause of the suspension being stiffer.

Also I thought I would mention that this comment is only on M3 4drs and coupes, not on 3 series..........
I find that a M3 is about the sport and would much prefer to use it for that. Also, im 18 and am probably goign to change my mind by the time I hit the ancient age of 30.

4-door M3's dont really turn me on-get a coupe M3 or an M5 if you need the space.
