My manual gives directions for the computer controls seen in the picture below. (Thank's for the photo Young Beamin')
However the one in the car only has the top row of buttons with alot less features. Can you upgrade that? Is it expensive? Is it even worth it or is it just a bunch of bells and whistles?
Can I swap out the better one? I found a few on eBay cheap. But I don't want to spend the money if 1)it's a big waste of time and energy or 2) it won't hook up in the first place.
in my opinion, ive used both computers on the 2 different bmws i test drove.. i have the car with the less buttons, and i find that its sufficient and i really would never use the other features that the upgraded computer would give me. all i use it clock, date, and the temperature gauge... its not really worth the money if you ask me

you can upgrade but it's not a direct replacement and it's supposed to be a huge PAIN IN THE ASS, might as well keep what you got, that's what i got, not like i'm paying atention to that crap while i'm driving, so i find it pretty mutch useless, othat than it looks cool lol
