Clutch Pedal Clicks

I went to test out a 97 m3. Looked great except a few minor things and this. When the clutch was depressed, right before it hit the bottom it would click maybe 3-5 times, you can also feel it click. It didnt require any extra force it just clicked right before it hit the bottom I did a little homework but couldnt find anything except for maybe the throwout bearing or the pressure plate. I hope its not this because I dont want to shell out the labor for that. I also read somewhere that it may be a spring behind the clutch or something. Anyone got any ideas?

Well on my car you hear the click too but only once, and it is to signal you that you have pressed the clutch just enough so that the car will start. What I mean is that my car has a safety system preventing the car from starting unless the clutch is depressed, this is not true for all stick shift cars though

nope. Its a problem with the car, it only does it when depressed though. The owner suggested it may be some bearings for the clutch. He seemed very honest so I'll just go ahead and take it to the mechanic and see if he says anything about it.
