Pre-requsite:
Owner of a 1999 M3 with a stock Top Hi/Fi Sound system (Harmon Kardon) with the CD Changer in the trunk. (or any other e36 with the same sound system)
What I require:
You to completely disconnect your CD changer in the trunk (all cables)
What Results am I looking for:
Let me know if your radio produces sound.
Why you should help me:
Because you love bimmers
and it will answer a very simple question for me.

Below is information from my other thread located here)
I checked out the radio and this is what Ive found out.
Note: I have the TOP HIFI sound system (or whatever its called)
1. The radio powers up and all buttons work.
2. I removed the radio and put it back in (security code works too
3. It finds and recognizes radio stations (shows their station identification letters)
4. Both FM and AM do not produce sound.
5. The CD Changer in the trunk is missing.
6. All the wires on the AMP in the trunk are plugged in.
So. I have a few questions.
1. If I suspect the AMP is defective, How would I go about testing it?
2. If the AMP is not defective, what should I test next?
3. Is there anyone in Vancouver BC with an M3 that I can meet up with and swap the AMP with to rule it out? (seriously, there's a case of beer in it for ya)
4. Will the sound system still function with the CD Changer removed? Ive heard several references to the system not producing any sound if one of the devices is disconnected.
