buying 95 m3 from an independant dealer

the engine has 130,000 miles, i test drove and the engine feels healthy and the clutch and shifting was good, it was priced at 13000 and i got the dealer to go to 12000 because the right rear wheels rim is bent a little and there are some minor dent near wheel well of same wheel so i am thinking previous owner could have backed into a pole at gas station and put dents and bed rim at same time, however it is so minor that i still want the car and am willing to have the dents repaired at a body shop also of course i will have to replace the rim so if anyone has prices on rims or any advice on the situation i would appreciate it ghead

thats an awesome deal... you can buy replica rims at aaarims.com for pretty cheap. Bavauto also has OEM rims, so you can just replace the one

i have been shopping around but this is the best one i could find for the price, i am sure you have seen better condition m3's for cheaper but no where around where i live(south orange county, CA), also i cant buy one from a private seller because 1. Usually people won't tell you the cars problems and at least dealer fixes them to good running condition and i would not be able to finance any car year 1995 from a private seller because most lenders only finance cars up to seven years old.

1. get a carfax
2. get an independent mechanic/dealer to examine the car and give you a report.
3. Get an estimate on the repairs before you buy it.
4. Check to see how much the insurance is.
5. Are there maintenance records available.
6. When is the next service due and how much will it cost?
7. If the rim is bent, is the suspension okay? how about the wheel alignment?
