Hi all,
I am looking into buying a 2002 M3. The car has everything original and looks great, but it has the AC Schnitzer free-flow exhaust replacing the original exhaust. So I am wondering is this modification having any netgative effects (i.e. void the warranty etc) on BMW's original 4year/50k warranty? Would BMW refuse to service the car or something like that?

And in general, what's AC Schnitzer's role in BMW's world?

Thanks!!

As far as I know... AC has no dealer affiliation.... but I might be wrong... the only big aftermarket tuner right now is "Dinan" that you can get from BMW dealer (very select few dealers)... again.. I might be wrong. I'd check with a dealership and see if it has indeed nullified the warranty.

Hmm, "no dealer affiliation" sounds like a bad news.... Thanks for the info though.

Also, it got me interested in the Dinan S pacakge. Any idea how much it cost to add Dinan S2 (the S2 software, plus ceramic exhaust) to a E46 M3?

They sell schnitzer wheels at my dealer, I think you'd be safe. If not isn't it just the exhaust warranty that is voided and I believe ACS offers one with products like most manufacturers right?

You can buy schnitzer through UK dealers.

Alpina is the only MAJOR bmw tuner. Hamann and Dinan offer modified cars, Alpina offer niche BMW based products not available from BMW.

"...and the home of the brave..... is bravey 130bhp from a 7 litre engine? 100bhp/litre or don't bother building it!"

if you ever have to go in for service for that part of your car (engine, emissions) take the muffler off and put the stock one back one, but for any other service, u wil be fine
