About To Buy An 01 M3

A local dealer is offering a 2001 M3 hardtop with 117,000 miles for $24,900.

what do you veterans think? should i bother buying the car considering it has so many miles. The car is lowered, the rims are powder coated, it has a carbon fiber lip kit The description also claims that that car is very clean and it has a clean title?

bottom line ---------- > 01 M3 117K miles for $24,900?? should i go for it?!???

Also, if I do choose to buy this car what signs of wear and tear should I look for?

btw..im pretty sure i would be able to talk the price down a couple of grand

No... you should not buy it cuz its still expensive for how many miles it has... my sudgestion is spend some more money (like 5-10k more) and buy one with a third of the miles.!! 117000 on a 01 thats to extreme... its like they visited every state in the US. come out ot about 30,000 a year considering you want a car with only 10 000(ish) a year.

That is a lot of damn mileage. There are a few things though. With so many miles, I dont doubt this car wasnt a commuter car. Highway mileage is less hurtful to the car than city mileage. BUT, as in any M, these cars are used, abused, and reused. I mean this thing was probably thrashed. Any M car, especially the e46 for some odd reason, always seems to be abused like a race car, as it should be.

Id stay away and dream of another car, and int hat price range maybe even a 01+ M roadster or coupe.
