I have a 98 M3 coupe - ASC light flashes at 70-75 MPH, dry pavement, driving in a straight line, no wheel slip at all. Dealership replaced ACS throttle potentiometer. Mechanic said 50-50 chance that potentiometer or something else could be the problem. (Fault code apparently pointed at 2 possible sources of problem.) Replacement no help - in fact, worsened.
Bentley manual useless on this option. What are other possible sources of this problem?

That's where I'm going to look next myself, and it won't cost me $400 to look. Funny how it always happens between 72-75 MPH. Let you know what I find. Thanks.

I haven't figured out how to get from 70 to 80MPH without going through the speeds in between. Your M3 must be magic! Mine won't let me bypass 71, 72, 73,........
