That's not a bad price. You could be getting into a lot of problems with the car however. Make sure you take it to a good BMW independent repair shop. You might have to pay them $60-$100 to do a full pre purchase inspection. They should scan the computer as part of this inspection. You will need to pay close attention to the Vanos unit and engine in general. Any strange sounds and you could be looking at some costly repairs. Most of the problems were worked out by 98, so as long as it has been taken care of it should be in good shape. Find out what the nonstock components are. If they are cheap suspension components or cut springs you will be looking at replacing them also. Further if the roads are bad in your area you will not want to be driving a lowered M3 on 19s.
