so far all i know the difference between the us m3 motor and the euro m3 motor is that the euro one has double vanos, does anyone know if there are more differences and if i am right then couldn't you convert your us m3 motor to euro by swapping the us head for a euro head with double vanos and get a euro ecu or figure aout some way to recode the us ecu and add some extra wires for the extra vanos solenoid ghead ghead ghead ghead ghead ghead ghead ghead

No you cant, different engines.

The euro M3 motor 3.2 liters and multi-throttle intake are the two major differences. The s54 the new US m3 motor is very similar to the 95-96? s50(single vanos) and -99' s52(double vanos) motor.

what differences are in the block, is the euro spec block made out of different material which would make it stronger?

A couple of kilometres from here there is a BMW junkyard where lots of euro M3 (321 hp) for sale...... An engine from '96/'97 costs about 3000 euro (3500USD) with around 60 kmiles running. For completing (new ecu, drivetrain, suspension) all you should pay 5000 euro.
